Hi Jan, first came across your stuff when I reviewed a Jolie Holland / Sam Amidon gig and Jolie played No Country. Was in Farndale actually. Launching a website for musicians and fans next year which may be of interest. probably in New York/New Jersey/California next year for a while so may catch you if you have any gigs April/May.

Hi, this time each year I do a compilation of my favourite music through the year and hand them round to friends. This year its mostly Americana and your stand-out track "Carpenter's Arms" will be on it. I anticipate that friends will be wowed and will want to know just where Jan Bell is from. As I live in Sheffield and work in Barnsley the answer "Originally fromYorkshire" will simply not do it. Is there any chance that you could send a one word answer to let us know more specifically where in Yorkshire you were brought up? Thanks.
